The Grammy-winning artist is getting ready for a major big screen presence in 2026, starting with the satirical film titled The Moment.
Within the project, Charli portrays what she refers to as a twisted version of her public image.
It’s the truest representation of the entertainment world that I’ve ever witnessed, the performer commented.
She clarified in a conversation: It’s far from a live performance documentary, however the inspiration originated from the pressure to make one.
The initial preview, unveiled on Thursday, blends real clips from Charli’s Sweat tour with made-up behind-the-scenes moments.
The film is directed and co-written by the director, who shared that the plot centers on a world where the singer made entirely different choices during the publicity of her chart-topping release Brat.
The film is just one of numerous forthcoming screen roles for the musician, who already starred in three independent movies this year.
She also appeared as herself in the Amazon series Overcompensating.
Next year will also include Charli with Olivia Wilde in romantic thriller I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in gallery suspense The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in scary reboot Faces of Death.
She also signed on to appear in Dakota Johnson’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.
I’m thoroughly loving my foray into acting, Charli stated. I’m highly enthusiastic currently in this area, and I always choose to take on things that inspire me.
February will also bring the debut of the filmmaker’s interpretation of Wuthering Heights, which will feature fresh tracks from the artist.
She is also set to compose the score for the story Mother Mary, with Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released soon.
The film will be released on 30 January.
