New England tied their best victory streak from the Tom Brady period as they defeated AFC East opponents the Jets 27-14 in the NFL

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson shone brightly with three scores as the Patriots claimed an eight-game winning streak for the initial occasion since iconic QB Brady's closing campaign with the team in 2019

QB Maye accumulated 281 passing yards and a TD, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws

The triumph bolsters the Patriots lead at the top of the AFC East as they improved to a 9-2 record, with the New York bottom after falling to a 2-8 mark

The visitors had taken the lead at their home field with QB Fields scoring a five-yard TD to cap the New York's opening drive

But the home team responded in the second period as Henderson rushed for two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Maye at the back of the endzone midway through the third quarter to push the score to 21-7

"That was a crucial moment for him rising to the challenge, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback said of Henderson. "He aims to be outstanding."

Fields threw to Metchie toward the end of the third period to reduce the lead for the Jets but Andy Borregales converted a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the Patriots closed out the triumph
