Alarming Recording Captures Point Law Enforcement Suffer Blade Attacks in Surprise Attack

A senior officer who jumped to the help of a colleague that got attacked by a knife attacker was granted the King's Commendation for Bravery.

Sergeant Tim Ansell fought with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown after he held a weapon to the throat of his fellow officer Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown initiated the assault as the policemen and their partner, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a driver following a vehicle incident in that location in mid-2023.

Brown knifed and cut the two Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a electric weapon.

"Policeman attacked," PC Wolstencroft stated over his communication device.

Bodyworn and vehicle camera video released by the police department revealed Brown, that was clothed in black with a hood covering head, run up to Sgt Foster from behind with a blade pointed forward.

He collided with the officer who lost balance and dropped to the ground, after which Sgt Ansell jumped in and tried to wrestle him to the pavement although being continually attacked with the weapon.

PC Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and sought a clear shot, concluding the fight to an conclusion.

Sgt Ansell can be heard to say: "Please provide assistance on my neck now, I got knifed in the throat."

Sgt Ansell sustained two open wounds to his neck and further wounds to his limbs and body, while Sergeant Foster experienced slash wounds.

The department stated Sgt Foster utilized his palms to stem his partner's bleeding before emergency responders reached the scene.

This most recent award arrives after the law enforcement team won departmental Valor Recognitions in late 2023 and the police federation award from the regional union branch in early 2024.

They were also awarded a Regional Valor Recognition in July 2024.

"The responses of the entire team in the end protected themselves and ensured no bystanders suffered any harm."

Brown received a sentence to an secure medical confinement in April 2024, according to officials.
